Recent articles such as The End of Courtship? (The New York Times) and Hacking the Hyperlinked Heart (The Wall Street Journal) paired with opinions from even the least opinionated people have hijacked my Twitter feed over the last few days. All this talk about the horrors of dating in 2013 due to text messages, prolonged adulthood and hookup culture has left me wondering what complaints will be made about dating in the future. I don’t claim to have a crystal ball, but I believe history has taught us enough that we should anticipate at least a few things. Dating will adapt, will be a sore subject among those who are single (not by choice) and will never die, despite how many times we pronounce it dead.
